Soochna Seva – Fight Fire with Unity
In 2011, Passpati Devi’s husband passed away and after his demise she applied for Widow Pension Scheme that too with the help of a government official.
The processing of application form usually takes 40 days to complete and Passpati Devi was expecting the same. But to her surprise no action took place. So, she went to meet gram representative and block managers and appealed to them to look into the matter. Three years had passed and since then no progress took place in her case. It was in 2015 when she came to know about Soochna Seva. On day, Passpati Devi reached Soochna Seva Kendra and elaborated her miseries to our Soochna Sevak , Komal.This case turned out to be a challenge for Komal therefore she decided to give her best efforts to it.
Initially she visited Ramnagar block and inquired about the status of the pension that Passpati has applied for. To her surprise all the processing at the block level was clear and the application has received Right to Public Service (RTPS) approval and has been sent to Gram Panchayat.
The Gram Panchayat representative was adamant to believe that the pension plan has passed at block office but constant monitoring of Komal forced him to open up age old files. Finally he gave the acceptance receipt and assured that the money will now go to Passpati’s account.
