February was a busy month for the Soochna Seva team. Abdul Vahid, Project Officer of Soochna Seva, visited two districts, West Champaran and Ranchi, and had very interesting encounters to share. Soochna Seva is a DEF project under European Union which was founded to disseminate information about Government Schemes and Entitlements to communities in five backward districts – West Champaran, Ranchi, Barmer, Guna, and Tehri Garhwal.
In West Champaran, Vahid visited Balthar village in Sikta block with the intention of preparing the ground for a documentary film being currently shot on DEF. What followed was an interesting interactive session where a large number of people, including the Mulhiya, gathered at the spot, throwing queries after queries on the various Government schemes and benefits. Mr. Rameshwar Prasad, conducted the interactive session effortlessly, responding to each and every query in the local dialect – Bhojpuri. Grabbing this opportunity, the film crew captured the session, clicked away photographs, and also held candid interviews. The film even captured the Mukhiya assuring her complete support to the Soochna Seva project. This session was very successful and will surely play a very important role in spreading the word of Soochna Seva all across the district.
