Following are the excerpts as told to Shishir Purohit, District Mananger of Soochna Seva Barmer, when he visited Sarpanch office on 30 August 2015:
Q: What do you think about Soochna Seva and the services provided by it?
A: Soochna Seva has been providing impeccable services for the betterment of people. The best part of this project is that the people receive information under one roof without any effort. They have also begun believing that government schemes and policies are meant for providing social security and sustainability.
Q: What kind of changes have you seen since the inception of Soochna Seva in the panchayat?
A: Earlier the government officials at block level used to delay the application process and this troubled the villagers a lot. But now, with the efforts of Soochna Seva the attitude of the government officials has changed. The processes that once took time are moving faster compared to earlier days.
Q: How frequently Soochna Sevaks visit your office?
A: Soochna Sevaks are regular in their visits. They do not miss any week and every week they come twice to meet as many people as they could.
Q: How many services you have provided to the people in collaboration with the Soochna Seva team?
A: With Soochna Seva team we have successfully helped many villagers in availing pensions. Around 60 people has applied for pensions such as ‘Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana’, ‘Pradhan Mantri Jan Surakshya Yojana’, ‘ Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Beema Yojana’, and others. Within Dhananu Panchayt we have collectively worked for constructing 130 public toilets under ‘Swacch Bharat Abhiyan’.
Q: How do you think we can work together to bring positive changes?
A: Soochna Seva has transformed the way people think about their rights. In future I believe that they can act as a strong figure in advocating their suggestions during policy making and formulation of new schemes.
