Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY) is a safe motherhood intervention under the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) being implemented with the objective of reducing maternal and neo-natal mortality by promoting institutional delivery among the pregnant women. JSY integrates cash assistance with antenatal, intranatal & postnatal care.
Soochna Seva team was explaining about Jannani Surakshya Yojna in Devpur, a small village in Raghogarh Block on April 26, 2015. After the session was over, Ram Singh, a participant in the meeting approached Soochna Seva team and requested them to help his daughter-in-law avail the benefits of JSY.
Radha Bai, daughter-in-law Ram Singh is 25-yrs-old and she will be delivering a child by March 20, 2015. The Soochna Seva team took up the case and spoke with the concerned authorities at Community Health Centre in Madsudangarh, in Raghoghar block. The authorities went through all the documents required and gave Radha Bai the benefit of Janani Suraksha Yojna through Soochna team.
