‘Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojna’ allows one to open an account with zero balance. So, Parmal Singh (45) sought help of Soochna Seva team to open his account in this scheme. He is from Kanti village in Lakshmanpura panchayat which is about 35 kilometers away from Raghogarh block. The residents of this village are from Bhil community.
In January 2015, the team tried to process his request but they could not do so due to system failure. So he went to a Kiosk centre at Parsoliya to open the account. The Kiosk operator took a hundred rupee note and told him that his account will be opened within fifteen days.
After few days Parmal Singh approached the Kiosk operator to get his account number but the operator responded in negative and did not give his account number.
The behavior annoyed Parmal Singh and he returned home empty handed. When Soochna Seva team visited Kanti village he narrated the whole story to them and requested to help him. When the team went to the Kiosk centre argument broke between the the team and the operator. But somehow the matter was brought into control and at the end Parmal Singh received his account number.
